Collection, preservation, and identification of freshwater fish species in middle to north-east Bangladesh with special notes on phenotypic plasticity of few species

A checklist of 110 species fishes belonging to 10 orders, 31 families and 78 genera was recorded with their scientific, common Bangla or local names. These fish specimens were collected from the rivers, beels, haors, ponds swamps middle North-east Bangladesh (Jamalpur, Netrokona, Kishorganj, Munshiganj Bogra Districts). The order Cypriniformes (37%) higher followed by Perciformes (24%), Siluriformes (23%), Clupeiformes (6%). global national IUCN categories these are also provided. Based on criteria, around 23% belongs threatened level 5, 8 10% denoted as critically endangered (CR), (EN) vulnerable (VU), respectively. Although collection preservation is comparatively hassle-free, however, due mingle nature few species; it seems difficult error free identification morphological traits alone. Two individuals Sanondabari, Jamalpur (MHBSFMSTU Fish 92 Ghaglajur Bazar, Netrokona 84), morphologically very similar but they completely two separated i.e. Gagata cenia G. youssoufi, Phenotypic plasticity a barrier name accurately, suggesting presence putative candidate existence hidden diversity in Sisoridae family. Due anthropological effects, biodiversity fishing grounds losing qualities, resulting low number freshwater sampling sites. systematic, ecology, distribution, habitats fauna need be studied exclusively well-planned conservation strategy implement early possible for protecting our valuable tasty fishes. Further, output current study will guide government non-government organization come forward take necessary measure betterment country, its economy, fisheries resources.

In a taxonomic survey on Cladosporium species in Iran, 35 specimens were collected from different substrates of various localities in Guilan (N. Iran) during 2011–12. Seven species viz. C. cladosporioides s. str., C. oxysporum, C. halotolerans, C. perangustum, C. pseudocladosporioides, C. sphaerospermum, and C. tenuissimum are identified and the latter five species are new records to Iran.
